Acquirer Implementation Project Manager – Remote-First at EPI Company Join the European Payments Initiative (EPI) – a movement to change the way Europe pays by building a new, proudly European payment system that is easy, instant and transparent. With our digital wallet, Wero, we enable simple, seamless and secure money transfers across France, Belgium and Germany, and soon more countries and omnichannel solutions. Supported by 14 major banks and the two largest European acquirers, EPI is revolutionising payments. What this role looks like You will be a bridge between EPI’s organization and acquirers, designing tailored implementation plans and ensuring seamless coordination of all stakeholders until go‑live. You will engage with members and the broader ecosystem, foster collaboration, share best practices, and build momentum. You will be the internal champion for EPI members and a vital contributor to bring the vision to life. Team You will report to Gerry, Chief Market Roll Out, and work within a team of experienced implementation managers. Your daily contacts will include members of EPI’s product, scheme, engineering, marketing, and operations teams. Responsibilities Onboarding of new members Support new members with their onboarding Co‑design their EPI implementation plan Set up an appropriate project governance Oversee end‑to‑end delivery of the plan Act as central liaison between EPI member and the organization Ensure timely deployment by guiding the member’s project manager Manage all dimensions of implementation: tech, legal, branding, marketing, product, and other relevant areas Facilitate sessions to resolve product, rules, and technical challenges Lead and prepare the steering committee together with the member’s project manager Monitor and report on implementation progress Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies Provide clear and actionable reporting to stakeholders Contribute to fine‑tuning of the implementation approach Continuously refine the roll‑out and onboarding process, focusing on standardisation, industrialisation, and sharing experiences Qualifications +10 years experience in the payments industry, ideally with exposure to banking, acquiring, or payment scheme environments Strong technical and business understanding of local payment ecosystems Proven experience in leading IT development projects within the payments sector Deep knowledge of SCT Inst, cards, POS, and/or e‑/m‑commerce solutions Solid background in project management, with excellent organisational and coordination skills A proactive mindset and strong interpersonal skills to drive collaboration and problem‑solving Ability to deliver high‑quality work and track progress through KPIs Fluent in English (CEFR C1 or C2); French, German, Dutch, or other European languages are a plus Comfortable working remotely in a pan‑European, multicultural environment Recruitment Steps A first call with a recruiter An interview with an Implementation Manager focused on the mission and your expertise A final interview with the Chief of Market Roll Out Hopefully, an offer you can’t refuse Equal Employment Opportunities EPI offers the same job opportunities to all, without distinction of gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, social status, disability or age.
