Main Responsibilities The Oenologist plays a key role in the wine and spirits industry: Ensure Wine Quality: They select grape varieties and analyze the soil, advise on vine treatment and harvest dates, supervise winemaking and distillation, define preservation processes, and handle blending and bottling. Evaluate and Control: They design analytical methods and perform chemical and organoleptic tests to correct any defects. Tasting Professional: With a highly developed sense of taste and smell, they evaluate wines, advise producers, and play a commercial role with clients.
