About The Role: We are looking for a senior, highly strategic, and execution‑oriented Head of Growth Marketing, China, to lead Paysend’s growth across one of the most complex and high‑potential remittance markets globally. This role goes beyond traditional corridor management. China requires deep local market expertise, a strong understanding of regulatory and ecosystem constraints, and the ability to design growth strategies that operate across closed platforms, alternative channels, partnerships, and trust‑driven communities. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial leader with a strong background in fintech, payments, or remittances, who understands how growth in China works differently from distribution and partnerships to brand trust, compliance, and user behaviour. This person will act as the single owner of growth strategy for China, translating global priorities into market‑specific execution while helping shape Paysend’s long‑term approach to Asia. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities): 1. Market Growth Strategy & Performance (China Corridors): Own the end‑to‑end growth strategy and performance for China‑related corridors, with a focus on the following activities: Define and execute a China‑specific growth roadmap, balancing acquisition, activation, retention, and unit economics. Drive sustainable increases in transaction volume, active users, and repeat usage through a mix of performance marketing, partnerships, and alternative distribution models. Develop a deep understanding of funnel performance across China corridors, identifying structural bottlenecks and opportunities unique to the market. Partner closely with Global and Regional Marketing Teams to adapt UA strategies to channels that are viable and scalable in the China ecosystem. Manage Local Growth Ambassadors responsible for grassroots activities, events, and local partnerships. 2. Partnerships, Distribution & Ecosystem Development: Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of strategic partnerships critical to scaling in China. Build relationships with key ecosystem players such as local wallets, platforms, diaspora networks, fintech partners, and community‑led distribution channels. Explore non‑traditional acquisition paths where standard paid media is constrained or inefficient. Support commercial and strategic discussions with partners that can unlock trust, access, or scale within the Chinese diaspora. Act as a thought partner to leadership on how China partnerships differ structurally from other regions. 3. Product, Payments & Customer Experience: Work closely with Product, Network, Compliance, and FinCrime teams to ensure Paysend’s offering is fit for purpose in the China context. Influence product prioritisation based on China‑specific user needs, payout methods, funding preferences, and UX expectations. Partner with payout and funding teams to ensure flows are reliable, intuitive, and aligned with local behaviours and trust requirements. Support integrations with local wallets, platforms, or payment rails where strategically relevant. Actively contribute to fraud‑prevention and risk‑quality feedback loops, balancing growth with regulatory and operational constraints. 4. Trust & Community Building: Own the trust strategy for China corridors. Adapt Paysend’s global brand positioning to resonate with Chinese users and diaspora communities. Develop trust‑building initiatives through partnerships, community leaders, influencers, and culturally relevant messaging. Ensure Paysend is positioned as a credible, safe, and long‑term financial partner in a market where trust is a primary growth lever. What You’ll Need To Be Successful In This Role: Strong background in growth, marketing, partnerships, or commercial roles within fintech, payments, remittances, or adjacent digital platforms. Deep familiarity with the China payments ecosystem, including wallets, platforms, regulatory constraints, and user behaviour. Proven experience scaling services in China or China‑facing corridors. Strong strategic thinking combined with hands‑on execution capability. Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building new growth paths where no standard playbook exists.
