AI Compiler Engineer Join to apply for the AI Compiler Engineer role at OPENCHIP & SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGIES. Role Overview As an AI Compiler Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing the AI compiler toolchain that bridges high-level machine learning frameworks and Openchip’s AI hardware accelerators (RISC‑V). You will work closely with software, hardware, and AI engineers to enable efficient inference execution of best-in-class GenAI LLMs, optimizing code generation and advancing compiler infrastructure. Your work will directly influence performance and scalability across Openchip’s AI inference stack. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain compiler components for AI inference workloads, focusing on graph lowering, optimization, and code generation (from frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or ONNX to hardware). Collaborate with hardware teams to leverage hardware features, maximizing performance. Contribute to open‑source compiler ecosystems (e.g., LLVM, MLIR, TVM, XLA, IREE). Profile, debug and optimize model execution to maximize throughput and minimize latency together with energy efficiency. Enable validation on prototype silicon or simulators or real hardware. Required Qualifications Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field. 3+ years of experience in compiler development for AI/ML, GPU, DSP, or custom accelerators. Proven expertise with MLIR, LLVM, or similar compiler infrastructures. Strong programming skills in C++ and Python. Solid understanding of neural network computation graphs, linear algebra, and AI inference frameworks. Experience in code generation, optimization passes, and runtime integration. Technical Skills MLIR / LLVM / IREE / TVM compiler development Model formats: ONNX, TensorFlow, PyTorch Low‑level optimization (SIMD, vectorization, scheduling, data‑tiling) Familiarity with hardware accelerators (GPU, NPU, TPU, DSP) Software profiling and performance analysis tools Git, CMake, CI/CD workflows Nice to Have Experience with RISC‑V architecture or AI accelerators Contributions to open-source MLIR or compiler projects Knowledge of quantization, mixed precision, and graph optimization techniques Exposure to system software, runtime APIs, or driver-level integration Background in heterogeneous computing and parallel processing Soft Skills Passion for innovation and cutting‑edge AI technologies Strong collaboration and cross‑functional communication skills Autonomy, curiosity, and a growth mindset Problem‑solving attitude with attention to detail Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, startup‑like environment What We Offer Contract: Permanent contract (CDI) Location: Montbonnot‑Saint‑Martin (near Grenoble) Remote policy: Up to 2 days per week remote work possible Benefits: Meal vouchers, Premium health coverage, Sustainable mobility incentives, Generous paternity leave, etc. We offer a remuneration package that values your experience We believe in investing in our employees and providing them with opportunities for growth and career development.
