Join us in this exciting journey and help us shape the future of social interactions About This Role This is a high‑impact individual contributor role reporting directly to our Chief Design Officer. As our first Staff Designer, you’ll play a central part in shipping impactful designs that will contribute to improving retention and revenue. You’ll also coach others through feedback and hands‑on collaboration, help us improve the standard for great design, and ensure that data‑driven decisions are taken at every single opportunity. Your focus won’t be limited to your squad. While you’ll work closely with a PM and Tech Lead to drive key areas of the product, you’ll also help shape how we design across Yubo. Your contribution will set the bar, your influence will raise it Your Responsibilities Co‑lead a product squad alongside a PM and Tech Lead to steer discovery, delivery, and impact, from hypotheses to polished releases. Turn KPIs into actionable design hypotheses and guide your squad toward data‑informed decisions, paving the way for fast experiments over long research cycles. Coach and mentor designers through weekly design critiques, giving consistent and fair feedback during and outside of team rituals. Shape the product’s design strategy by translating high‑level goals into concrete design principles, and ensuring our design system scales cleanly across iOS, Android and web. Identify and fix friction in our design and product development workflows. Tools we use Figma Amplitude Notion Who You Are You have significant experience designing features for high‑volume consumer apps and at least 7 years of professional experience as a Product Designer. Strong skills in interface design, usability principles, and design systems. A product‑oriented mindset: You understand the importance of data and business requirements and their impact on design without sacrificing user experience. You’re comfortable working in fast‑paced, collaborative environments and excel at communicating with cross‑functional teams, ideally in a squad system. A strong sense of ownership and autonomy, balanced with the ability to give and receive feedback constructively. A passion for designing products that make a difference in the lives of millions of users. Within a month, you will Get to know your squad’s mission, goals, and current challenges. Meet key stakeholders across product, tech, and research. Audit our current user flows, pain points, and design system. Participate in a feature kick‑off to get a feel for a full iteration cycle. Within 3 months, you will Ideate, prototype, and launch new premium flows that boost ARPU by increasing conversion and retention of paying users. Mentor at least one designer and provide regular feedback. Propose improvements to our design system or workflows. Within 6 months, you will Be a go‑to voice for design excellence across the org, coaching two seniors into autonomous squad leads and raising craft quality across teams. Explore and contribute to a new market growth initiative (new DAU source + revenue stream). Refresh/refine Yubo’s visual assets to maintain brand consistency and reinforce a modern, engaging look and feel. Explore and define how AI can power new social discovery experiences and monetization opportunities. The recruitment process Phone screen with a TAM. First interview with Jérémie (CDO).
