Teaching Laboratory Technician

SupBiotech is an engineering school specialising in Biotechnology. Its innovative spirit is evident in rapidly growing fields such as pharmaceuticals, food processing, environment, and cosmetics. SupBiotech operates at two sites: Villejuif and Lyon. The technological platform at SupBiotech Villejuif includes seven multipurpose laboratories dedicated to practical laboratory work.We are recruiting a laboratory technician to accommodate all our students during their practical activities under the best possible conditions and meet the school’s evolving needs.ResponsibilitiesAttached to the Laboratory Service Department, you will participate in the technical and educational activities of our institution. Your primary responsibilities will be to assist in material preparation, manage the laboratories, and provide academic support for practical teaching sessions.Assigned TasksIn coordination with instructors and laboratory service members, prepare and check necessary materials to ensure the smooth running of practical teaching sessions.Configure the laboratory rooms.Update, consult, and utilise technical documentation.Provide technical assistance to teachers during practical sessions as needed.Ensure that students and staff respect safety conditions.Participate in the development of protocols, new techniques, and result analysis.Manage stocks of consumables and laboratory equipment, assuring adherence to internal procedures.Participate in connecting the Paris and Lyon sites’ instructional methods and teachings.Participate in SupBiotech Open Days and Biotech Days.The tasks described above may evolve according to the school’s development.Desired ProfileSkillsProficiency in laboratory techniques in Life Sciences and Chemistry.Mastery of laboratory equipment use (biological safety cabinet, microscope, spectrophotometer, pH meter, thermal cycler, electrophoresis systems, centrifuges, etc.).Ability to communicate and report daily results.Knowledge of hygiene and safety rules related to laboratories.Good command of essential computer tools.Mastery of scientific and technical English.Microbial cultures in Erlenmeyer flasks and bioreactors are handled under aseptic conditions.Culture and maintenance of cell lines, transfection, phenotypic characterisation.Cloning, PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis, extraction, and analysis of DNA and RNA.Purification and analysis of proteins by chromatography, biochemical assays, SDS‑PAGE, and Western blot.Chemical titration, kinetics, infrared spectroscopy.Desired start date: 29 July 2024.Contract: CDI – Long Term Contract (Full Time). #J-18808-Ljbffr
