This role is home-based in EMEA time zones, with the option to be based in our London office, reporting to the Global Head of Accounting.We are looking for a professionally qualified accounting leader with expertise in NetSuite to build scalable processes, automated through correct and auditable implementations in NetSuite, Salesforce and other connected business systems. This lead will work across teams to align understanding and ensure that the accounting and revenue recognition treatment of contracts and products is straightforward and correct, with a high level of automation.This is a driving position that requires confidence in presentation, goal setting, and directing the work of others. We expect to grow a team with a focus on systems and automation to drive clarity, correctness, transparency and speed of reporting as a global tech company.ResponsibilitiesLead complex NetSuite configuration, workflows, customization, and integrationImplement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance within NetSuite and connected systemsDemonstrate proficiency in script understanding and problem resolutionDevelop and maintain reports, dashboards, and KPIs to provide insights into business performanceCoordinate regular system maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performanceProvide training and support to end-users to enhance their efficiency with NetSuiteOversee Sandbox accounts for development and testing, ensuring seamless deployment of customizations and updatesStay updated on new NetSuite features and assess their impact on business processesDrive process and systems improvements across teams for end-to-end automation of the full financial lifecycleIncorporate industry best practices and emerging technology to improve reporting speed and accuracyMentor and aid in developing the wider accounting and finance teamDevelop and maintain effective controls over revenue transactions and reportingResearch and write accounting memos on relevant policy mattersAct as the primary liaison with external auditorsValued Skills And ExperienceStrong academic track record; undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalentCPA, CA or equivalent with IFRS experienceDeep understanding of IFRS and SaaS/services revenue guidanceLeadership or management experienceExperience with software licensing, subscription and services revenue accountingExperience scaling accounting processes in a high-growth environmentExperience with ERP, Rev Rec, CRM, CPQ; NetSuite and Salesforce preferredExperience in multi-country, multi-currency operations and taxProfessional written and spoken English; strong interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated, curious, flexible, accountable, and result-orientedAbility to travel up to twice a year for company events (up to two weeks)Additional, Optional Skills We ValuePublic company reporting and revenue accounting experienceSoftware implementation, integration and user acceptanceSoftware engineering qualification or experiencePassion for technology and collaboration with motivated colleaguesMBA or other relevant business degreeWhat we offer youDistributed work environment with twice-yearly in-person team sprintsPersonal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per yearAnnual compensation review and performance-based bonus or commissionAdditional benefits aligned with our valuesFairness globally across locationsAbout CanonicalCanonical is a pioneering tech firm at the forefront of the global move to open source.
