Overview We are hiring an Engineering Manager focused on accountability for the development of an internal product. The successful candidate will set high engineering quality standards, continuously develop their own skills as well as those of their direct reports, and drive delivery. Commercial Systems Unit The Commercial Systems unit consists of six engineering teams that collaborate closely with other engineering and business teams at Canonical. Services designed, developed, and operated by the unit are at the heart of Canonical’s business. The Business Systems team operates systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce and others, working closely with operations teams to implement processes and maintain compliance. This role will be based remotely in the EMEA region. Responsibilities Accountability for the design and development of an internal product. Leading a team of software engineers. Developing the skills and capabilities of direct reports. Seeking improvements to established processes, designs and solutions. Building an understanding of business needs to deliver the most impactful solutions. Qualifications Exceptional academic track record from high school and university. Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative regarding an alternative path. Track record of exceeding expectations to achieve outstanding results. Experience with software development in Salesforce, NetSuite or other CRM/ERP systems. Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills. Result‑oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments. Ability to travel internationally twice a year, for company events up to two weeks long. Nice‑to‑have skills Experience with accounting, sales, sales operations or other business roles. Performance engineering.
