OverviewSenior Platform Engineer at Smals. You will join the Platform team and be responsible for installing infrastructure services, developing and deploying technologies with Kubernetes and OpenShift, and ensuring the reliability, performance and availability of infrastructures for users and developers. You will contribute to lifecycle management and Site Reliability Engineering in a complex environment, with a focus on durable tool and process improvements. A passive knowledge of Dutch is required.ResponsibilitiesDefine and validate the necessary elements and perform the installation of infrastructure services using Helm charts.Contribute to the development and deployment of Kubernetes and OpenShift technologies and integrate them with existing infrastructures and services.Ensure operational management of installed infrastructures and maintain optimal functioning to guarantee reliability, performance and availability for users and developers.Propose durable solutions and improvements to tools and processes when needed.Work autonomously in a complex environment and maintain a focus on Application Lifecycle Management and Site Reliability Engineering.Collaborate as a team player and communicate effectively.QualificationsBachelor's degree; minimum 3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or Platform Engineer.Strong experience with Kubernetes (knowledge of OpenShift or Azure is a plus).Experience writing and deploying Helm charts.Solid knowledge of networking, security, Linux administration and shell scripting.Experience with installation and maintenance of: metrics tools, centralized logging, IDP solutions, monitoring tools, secret management solutions, messaging queues, API management (API gateway and versioning).Nice-to-have: Java development (Spring, Java EE, JBoss, etc.), CI/CD pipelines, reverse proxies (Apache, NGINX), Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL).Ability to propose sustainable solutions and improvements to tools and processes.
