OverviewHealthy Ageing Research Scientist (H/F/X) at Mars – Royal Canin, Aimargues near Montpellier, France. Type of contract: Permanent (CDI).Location: Aimargues near Montpellier, France. The Research Team within Royal Canin R&D is responsible for long-term innovation (4+ years). The team delivers solutions into new or improved products, processes and services that enhance the health and wellbeing of cats and dogs and bring competitive advantage to Royal Canin. The team values a broad expertise and diversity of scientific backgrounds. The purpose of this role in the Core Health Research Team is to identify innovative solutions on Healthy Ageing (nutritional products, services, diagnostics, or functional complements) for pets and to communicate relevant scientific/technological findings to key business and external audiences. What profile we are looking forDoctor of veterinary medicine (DVM or equivalent) preferredMSc or PhD (preferred) with expertise in gastroenterology, nutrition, veterinary science, animal science and/or animal physiologyPost Doc or initial experience of 2 years of Research & Development in a corporate environment is a plusFluency in English both verbal & written Key responsibilitiesScreen potential solutions, build and manage approved research projects within the research programExecute research projects from idea generation through protocol setup, external research contracting, ethical review, regulatory checks, budget, and protocol follow-up using processes in place within the Research teamEngage with the Core Health Research team to generate and demonstrate new research hypothesesEngage with the Predictive Research Team for use of tools that optimize design and outcomes of clinical studiesEngage with the Pet Professionals and PSR Demand teams to align ideas and projects with support from the Research Senior ScientistSupport the Design team regarding the scientific evaluation of new diagnostic tools, devices, and other service solutions for the wellbeing of cats and dogs in the field of researchIdentify potential collaborations between Waltham and Mars Petcare Units relevant to the Core Health Research team (e.g., Mars Veterinary Health group, Science & Diagnostics division)Communicate relevant scientific/technological findings to key business and external audiences through written works and oral presentation To deliver innovative solutions implementable in the Royal Canin product and service portfolio, including transferring the solution to the Develop team and proposing the best route of implementation into the product.
