Software Development Engineer in Test II (SDET) – Network Diagrams Utilize your passion for software quality and join our Network Diagram team as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET). Work alongside a dedicated group of engineers designing and implementing interactive network, schematic, and link analysis visualization software used by Esri’s ArcGIS platform for critical infrastructure design and management. Overview This role provides an opportunity to build new and innovative functionality for ArcGIS, leveraging your skills in test automation and quality engineering while learning best practices from experienced ArcGIS developers. Responsibilities Collaborate with Product Engineers to establish test plans, identify gaps, and prioritize manual tests suitable for automation. Create tests for functional, performance, scalability, and durability testing following established coding guidelines and variable definitions. Design and develop automated integration and regression test cases for software components via the API. Deploy and schedule integration tests to run daily and communicate results in an understandable manner. Manage and refactor the suite of integration tests and results dashboards as needed. Perform rigorous peer reviews of test code. Collaborate with Software Development Engineers to improve software quality through thorough tests and monitoring code testability. Measure test coverage and analyze continuous integration test results. Conduct framework‑level troubleshooting, analyze test failures, and make necessary repairs. Define, implement, maintain, and document automated test frameworks. Advocate for quality throughout the software development process and advise on test optimization. Requirements 2+ years of experience with programming proficiency in C#. Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming concepts. Applied knowledge of testing principles, including experience designing and executing test cases. Experience using test automation frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Appium, JUnit, or CUnit. Understanding of deployment tools such as Jenkins or Chef. Developer sensibilities in software design, refactoring, and authoring. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to evaluate and resolve software issues. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, GIS, or a related field. Recommended Qualifications Basic technical knowledge of computer hardware. Experience with graph and/or relational databases such as SQL, Postgres, Oracle, Arango, or Neo4j. Knowledge of Visual Studio and Git. Knowledge of ArcGIS and online services, or other GIS products. Experience with software testing tools such as Appium, Coded UI, Selenium, or related tools. Knowledge of object‑oriented programming and design patterns. Experience with Python and/or JavaScript. Knowledge of graph theory. Technical knowledge of computers.
