To support our growth, we are looking for a Software Engineer – Application Support & Test based in Angouleme, France. Role and Responsibilities As a member of the R&D Software Engineering team, you will be responsible for verifying software versions of IMV products before they go into production, and for helping and supporting users. As a Software Engineer - Application Support and Tester, you are part of the product design and development project teams. You will also act as the R&D team's point of contact with the After-Sales Service for all incidents reported by users and relating to IMV software. Lastly, you will be responsible for follow‑up and troubleshooting with users, to provide high‑quality assistance and support. The position is based in Angoulême (Charente), close to the software development team. You may travel occasionally, for field visits or customer support, both in France and abroad. The key responsibilities Review and validate software specifications for IMV products development Design and implement functional and application tests for IMV software products development and maintenance Plan and execute of test campaigns, redaction of verification and validation reports for each new software release before its publication Participate in writing and updating user manuals, FAQs and troubleshooting documents Record defects in the developers' backlog and, monitor their resolution Assist users, helping them to use the software in conjunction with the Field Tests team and the IT team Level 1 and 2 support for on‑site or remote installation, configuration, troubleshooting and management of production incidents involving IMV software, in liaison with the R&D team. Follow‑up and management of level 3 support requests with the R&D and IT teams. Record, track, document and manage tickets for user requests concerning IMV software, applying the IMV quality process. Key Skills & Characteristics Prerequisite Degree qualified in Computer Science or Software Development A minimum of 3 years of experience in testing and application support on industrial software, embedded software or in Windows environment, including network and database administration. Fluent in French and English is essential with regular communication with IMV colleagues and clients internationally. Other additional languages are welcome. Skills Good written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with end users and the Support team Active listener, who is curious about the customer’s processes. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with Windows10, Windows11, Linux, computer administration and maintenance. Knowledge of VPN and virtual machine administration. Experience with relational databases, SQL commands, SQL Server administration. Knowledge of ITIL, ISTQB, RGPD and Cybersecurity standards would be appreciated.
