# Billing & Revenue Controller## Animaj is hiring## Job DescriptionBuild and operate a zero-defect revenue engine for Animaj across all IPs, platforms, and partners - ensuring every euro is correctly reported, booked, reconciled, and shared.In time you will become **the single point of truth for revenue** at Animaj, with full ownership of how revenue flows are designed, automated, and scaled. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the revenue operating model of a fast-growing IP studio, work closely with Finance, Legal, Data, and Business teams, and grow into a strategic leader as Animaj expands its catalog, deals, and territories.### Responsibilities:A. Royalty & Revenue Collection:* **Collect**, **ingest**, and **standardize all royalty statements** across YouTube, AVOD/SVOD, Music, CP, Publishing, Linear TV, and all digital platforms* **Parse statements, reconcile with platform dashboards** (e.g., YouTube CMS, Spotify for Artists), and **identify discrepancies**.* **Validate partner reports** and challenge under-reporting, missing data, or late reporting.* Maintain consolidated royalty templates across all IPs.* Ensure **invoices are correctly prepared, issued, and tracked** in line with contractual terms, milestones, and reporting periods, in coordination with accounting / billing.* **Monitor outstanding receivables, flag overdue items**, support billing dispute resolution, and escalate cash collection risks in coordination with Finance Ops / Accounting / Legal.* Work closely with Accounting to ensure **accurate invoicing, clean AR, and proper revenue recognition**B. Revenue Month-End Closing:* Prepare **monthly revenue accruals** and **adjustments**.* Work with FP&A to validate **revenue targets**, **curves**, and variance explanations.* Manage **deferred revenue**, **MG recoupment**, and **partner splits**.* Deliver clean **monthly revenue packs** by Day +3.C. Financial Compliance & Partner Reporting* **Prepare outgoing reports for partners** (e.g., Disney, Hasbro, IMC Network, S100, Studio AKA).* Manage **third-party profit share calculations**.* Track **contractual terms**, **waterfalls**, and **revenue-sharing obligations** for each IP.* Coordinate with **legal for rights windows and exploitation terms**.D. Automation & Process Reinvention* Create a **single source of truth for revenue and royalty data**.* Develop a scalable process as Animaj **expands with new IPs and territories**.* Where possible - build scripts, connectors, or no-code automations to reduce **manual ingestion of reports**.E. Cross-functional Collaboration* Support the Distribution, CP, and Brand teams with **accurate revenue forecasts**.* Collaborate with the Data team to **integrate revenue flows into dashboards**.* Assist audit requests and due diligence with clean revenue trails.## Preferred Experience* **1–2 years of experience** in Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, Business Operations, Finance Ops, or a similar operational role in a scale-up or fast-growing company. Experience in entertainment or media is a plus.* **Experience working with complex revenue data, including one or more of the following:** • royalty or partner statements • recoupment or minimum guarantees (MGs) tracking • revenue splits and waterfall-style calculations • content, SaaS, or marketplace revenue models • basic content exploitation and rights concepts* **Advanced Excel/Sheets** (index/match, power queries, pivots, automation).* Strong **data** hygiene and **structuring** skills.* Ability to design **ingestion pipelines** with the Data team.* Good understanding of **ERP**/**accounting systems** (Netsuite, Sage, Pennylane, etc.).* **Fast operator**; strong sense of urgency.* Comfortable **pushing back on partners** with incomplete reports.* Experience with **multi-platform reporting** is a major plus (YouTube, Spotify, AVOD).### Outcomes:**After 30 days at Animaj:*** Fully understand Animaj’s **revenue streams, billing cycles, reporting calendars, and payment terms** across platforms and partners* Be operational on the **billing tools, revenue tracking files, and royalty templates*** Take ownership of **day-to-day billing and revenue reporting tasks** under supervision* Have clear visibility on **open invoices, receivables, and collection processes****After 90 days at Animaj:*** **Run the revenue engine autonomously**: reporting, billing, month-end, and cash collection* Guarantee **accurate revenue reporting and timely cash-in** across all partners and platforms* Be the internal **single point of truth** for revenue, billing, and payment status* Proactively flag revenue risks, leakage, or contract misalignment**After 6 months at Animaj*** Operate a **world-class RevOps & royalties function** with zero revenue leakage* Materially **shorten billing, close, and collection cycles** through automation and rigor* Scale revenue operations seamlessly as Animaj adds **new IPs, deals, and territories*** Be a **strategic counterpart to Finance, FP&A, Legal, and Business teams** on revenue matters* Contract Type: **Full-Time*** Location: **Paris*** Experience: **> 1 year*** **Possible partial remote** #J-18808-Ljbffr
