Join us on a mission to reshape the future About the role The EDA Research team is developing the tools that predict the performance of our superconducting QPU designs. These tools are essential in the chip design process at Alice & Bob. Our predictions are currently computed using a pipeline of simulation tools, including FEM software for electromagnetic problems, frameworks for approximations of quantum problems, and efficient numerical solvers. As an Expert Optimization Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and applying mathematical optimization tools to fine-tune chip design parameters. This work involves integrating closely with the existing simulation framework to maximize QPU performance metrics. Responsibilities Lead research and development of optimization tools for numerical and scientific software for chip design simulation Communicate with users and collect feedback to align the vision for the optimization workflows Identify limitations in current simulation pipeline and help build improvements needed to meet optimization targets Assess overall numerical performance of simulation pipeline and work with other simulation engineers to implement necessary improvements Write specifications for software engineers and collaborate to industrialize and deploy processes Requirements 3+ years of academic or industrial experience in optimization and large-scale numerical applications MSc or PhD in mathematics, engineering, physics or related field Solid experience with efficient numerical solvers First‑hand experience with Python and/or similar programming languages Fundamental comprehension of software design and engineering concepts and ability to collaborate with software engineers Professional-level English proficiency, both written and spoken Nice to Have Experience with FEM and conventional FEM tools is a plus General understanding of physics, especially electromagnetism and quantum physics, is helpful Benefits Our success is your success: own it with our BSPCE plan Direct IP Compensation: Earn substantial bonuses for driving the core patents that define our quantum architecture.
