Fullstack Software Engineer (x/f/m) – Ops AI Platform Alan's vision is to make prevention the new norm of care for all. Our mission is to help people live in good health to 100 while helping employers feel proud, turning health benefits from a cost centre into their most valuable investment. We’re building a vertically integrated health partner that seamlessly unites insurance and smart healthcare delivery into one system. By connecting all aspects of care – private, public, and direct to consumer – we create the most member‑centric healthcare experience. Through deep engagement, we empower everyone to overcome day‑to‑day health obstacles and live healthier lives. We partner with 35K+ companies of all sizes, serving more than 1M users, and have reached 770M+ in ARR. Our team of 700+ people (still growing) operates across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada. People joining Alan are always surprised and delighted by our innovative working method. We have a set of cultural values that guide our approach to work, such as: Mission is the Boss: long‑term thinking, mission above all else Member & customer‑led: obsessed with solving problems and delighting users Champions of excellence: extremely high standards and talent density Distributed ownership: everyone owns their decisions and results Radically transparent: all information accessible, written‑first, async decisions Optimistic alchemy: optimists who collaborate with genuine care Empathetic challengers: direct, caring feedback to help each other grow Bold contrarians: think differently, try new approaches Disciplined execution: decisive action with compounding focus Fight for simplicity: high‑impact processes, smart frugality The Ops AI Platform team is building something that doesn’t exist yet. Imagine a platform where AI agents autonomously handle operational work – connected to every internal and external tool, trained by operators themselves, running safely at scale. No engineers needed. No bottlenecks. Just agents that work. That’s what we’re building. The Ops AI Platform will let our Ops team create, evolve, and monitor their own AI agents to automate thousands of tedious tasks. We aim to crack problems no one has solved at this scale. The project just launched. You’d join at ground zero – shaping the architecture, the product, the entire foundation. What we’re working on: Integrate agents at the heart of internal tools – UIs where Ops monitor and take action on concrete business situations. We want AI agents to become first‑class citizens in this ecosystem, with context‑aware chat modals, allowing users to review agents’ reasoning, actions, and provide follow‑up instructions – with instant impact on business data. Empower non‑technical users to become autonomous in the creation and maintenance of agents to automate operational tasks at scale: prompting, tools configuration, testing, datasets, replayability, evaluations Build a complete set of tools made available to AI agents, connecting to internal and external capabilities: internal business data, external servers, external web dashboards without API, etc. Safety and accuracy at the core – robust testing, stateful evaluation, progressive rollout, human‑in‑the‑loop to validate sensitive actions, fine‑grained permissions and limits In 6 to 12 months we plan to increase our scope by owning the AI platform that will power all agentic use cases at Alan – creating economies of scale thanks to common infrastructure and tooling. Is it you we’re looking for? We’re looking for Product engineers with 3+ years of experience who get excited about building state‑of‑the‑art AI systems and applying them to real‑world, high‑stakes problems in operations. You’ll work at the frontier of LLMs, tool calling, human‑in‑the‑loop, internal tools UX, multi‑agent architectures, and see your work deployed in production, used by our ops team. You’ll implement new capabilities for AI agents, as well as tooling to make ops autonomous on the creation, evolution, monitoring and evaluation of their agents. You’ll work on making our system scale, going from a few dozen to tens of thousands of tasks automated daily. You’ll have significant influence on system architecture and code quality. You’ll mentor engineers, contribute to our product & engineering culture, and help build the team (including participating in hiring). You would be a good fit at Alan if most of this sounds like you: Strong background in full‑stack software engineering, systems architecture, with a spike in back‑end engineering. Experience with traditional ML, or LLMs, or ML dev ops is a big plus. Product‑mindful: you want your solutions to be used, and impactful. Self‑directed and pragmatic. Humble and still willing to grow (no matter your seniority). Collaborative, enthusiastic about teamwork, learning, and teaching. Fluent in English (no need to speak French). We’re looking for high potential and curiosity: make sure to show us this when you apply Everything else is a bonus. We are aiming to hire within the D‑F level range. Perks & Benefits At Alan, we believe that being in good health is a basic need, and it starts with our employees. This is why Alaners are provided with a stimulating environment and perks ensuring they are happy, efficient and spend only high‑quality time with co‑workers. Fair rewards. Generous equity packages complement your base salary. Flexible Office. Amazing office space at our HQ, sponsored co‑working hubs or a full‑remote experience with home office equipment sponsorship. All the tools you need. Top‑of‑the‑range equipment: MacBook Pro, keyboard, laptop stand, monitor and noise‑canceling headphones. Flexible vacation policy and flexible working hours. Organise your time as you wish. Delightful healthcare insurance. Extremely comprehensive health insurance – 100% for you and your children, 90-100% for partners depending on your country (permanent contracts only). Transport. Country‑specific commuter benefits. Extended parental leave for all new parents. Important note: we hire people, not roles. If you’re excited about this opportunity but don’t check every box, we’d love to hear from you. Everyone, no matter how under‑represented, should feel free to apply as it can only bring learning or success. If you identify yourself as a woman, research shows women often apply only when meeting 100% of requirements. Remember, this is just a guide, not a checklist. We’ll be thrilled to receive your application Check out our About Alan and Career pages, as well as our Medium, blog and Glassdoor page for more info.
