Business Manager, AI/ML recruitment at BioTalent part of the IN Group We are working with an ambitious deeptech company that is developing AI-driven tools to transform plant science. By combining genomics and multi-omics data, they’re enabling the next generation of trait discovery and predictive breeding. They’re now seeking an AI Researcher to evaluate and interpret AI model outputs in biological contexts, helping guide the development of next-generation models for plant science. You’ll curate and integrate complex datasets, design biological benchmarks, and work hand-in-hand with AI teams to ensure that model predictions translate into biologically meaningful insights for real-world applications. Ownership of large-scale plant genomic and multi-omics datasets with real-world product impact. Close collaboration across biology, AI, and data engineering teams. Your Responsibilities Acquire, curate, and integrate genomic, transcriptomic, phenotypic, and environmental datasets from public, academic, and industry sources. Build scalable, reproducible data pipelines and apply gold-standard quality control methods. Design and maintain evaluation frameworks to assess AI model performance (transformer, diffusion) in biological contexts. Interpret model outputs to derive biologically meaningful insights, validate predictions experimentally or in silico, and guide model development towards client use cases. Develop and manage benchmarks that reflect core plant biology tasks (e.g., trait prediction, variant effect, regulatory element activity). Act as the bioinformatics and biological validation advocate—bridging classical bioinformatics with modern AI workflows. Document metadata standards and ensure workflow reproducibility. You Will Bring Strong background in Biology, with experience building or evaluating models in a biological setting. Experience with ensuring LLMs can be embedded into workflows to provide real value. Skilled in Python or R, familiar with HPC environments and common bioinformatics formats (FASTA, GFF, BAM, VCF). Experience evaluating AI/ML models (transformer, diffusion, or flow-based) or a strong interest in learning to do so. PhD (preferred) in Biology Domain.
