Senior IT Auditor As a Senior IT Auditor, you will play a key role in providing independent and objective insights to strengthen the company’s governance, risk management, and internal control environment. You will lead and execute internal audits, advise management on risks, and recommend improvements to internal controls. Working in a highly international and diverse audit team, you will assess internal control frameworks across business processes and technologies. As a Senior IT Auditor at AkzoNobel, you will often be involved in the following types of audits: Business Process audits, focusing on SAP-based processes, including configuration controls, access rights, and obtaining process insights through data analytics. Information Technology audits covering existing IT environments as well as new projects and emerging technologies. Responsibilities Lead or participate in internal audit assignments globally in accordance with the Internal Audit Methodology Act as Lead Auditor, including leading audit teams and supporting the Audit Assignment Manager throughout the audit lifecycle Support audit planning by contributing to scope definition, risk assessment, and information gathering Prepare, conduct, and document interviews with audit clients and key stakeholders Review assigned processes and systems to identify risks and assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls Perform control testing, evaluate control deficiencies, and assess their impact on the organization Develop clear, concise audit observations and recommendations Coordinate with Operational Auditors and Data Scientists to ensure appropriate data analytics and process insights are used Contribute to audit reporting, including drafting sections of audit reports and presenting conclusions to management Finalize audit documentation, track management action plans, and follow up on the implementation of agreed actions Stay up to date on auditing standards, IT risks, and emerging technologies Share knowledge and best practices within the internal audit function Support internal audit management with functional and continuous improvement initiatives outside of audits, as required What you bring Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field At least 4 years of audit experience in public accounting and/or a large internal audit function, ideally within an international manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards and risk-based auditing Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills Ability to deliver results within budget and timelines Willingness to travel up to 40% Audit-related certification (e.g. CIA) or currently pursuing one Good understanding of IT operations (e.g. ITIL, DevOps), modern technologies (e.g. SaaS, Azure), and third-party assurance Strong understanding of SAP-based business processes (Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance/Controlling) Experience with data analytics in audits is highly preferred Why join AkzoNobel At AkzoNobel, we believe in empowering our people and offering meaningful careers.
