We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our team and work closely with the Founding Engineer to build and scale our data platform. Mission As a Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the data and AI strategy of Newable. You will design, develop, and deploy advanced data models and AI solutions to predict key inputs of our software, the energy needs of the buildings where we operate for instance. Your work will directly contribute to our mission of decarbonizing commercial real estate at scale. You will collaborate closely with the Founding Engineer, energy experts, and implementation teams to ensure that our data products are robust, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement machine learning models to predict, recommend, and optimize the performance of our energy systems. Collaborate with the Founding Engineer to define the long‑term data architecture and ensure seamless integration with the tech stack. Lead the exploration of new data sources and methodologies to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of our models. Work with cross‑functional teams to translate business needs into data‑driven solutions. Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with industry standards. Who You Are You have a strong background in data science, machine learning, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in building and deploying data products. You are proficient in Python and/or TypeScript, TensorFlow/PyTorch. Bonus: Experience with AWS and ML Ops. You have experience working with IoT data, time‑series analysis, or energy‑related datasets. You are entrepreneurial, autonomous, hands‑on, and thrive in a fast‑paced startup environment. You are passionate about sustainability and want your work to have a tangible impact on climate change. You are a strong communicator, able to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Bonus: Knowledge of the energy sector (e.g., procurement, flexibility, HVAC, BMS) is a plus.
