Job Description Segment: Royal CaninType of contract: PermanentLocation: Aimargues (Campus) near Montpellier, France As the Global Food Technology Specialist, you will shape the future of Royal Canin by leading the introduction of innovative raw materials, processes, and products across a dynamic international network of over 15 manufacturing sites. You will be the driving force behind Royal Canin’s R&D process and product leadership, evaluating and mitigating industrialization risks to ensure seamless rollout of groundbreaking innovations. This role defines and develops robust R&D specifications for both existing petfood technologies and pioneering new advancements, covering raw material processing, product quality, process flow, sequence, and equipment parameter settings. What profile we are looking for: B.S. or M.S. in a relevant technical or scientific discipline such as Food Science/Technology, Biological, Chemical, or Engineering sciences More than 5 years of industry experience in food technology development, process & product scale‑up, or implementation as an R&D engineer or Quality & Food Safety Engineer Lean Six‑Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus Experience working in a multicultural and international company Experience or interest in nutrition within the food environment is an asset Key Responsibilities: Lead the global industrialization of new petfood products—manage scale‑up across 15+ manufacturing sites, conduct risk assessments, refine specifications, and oversee first production runs. Develop, define, and maintain R&D specifications—including raw material processing, product quality attributes, process flows, and equipment parameters. Define validation requirements for new equipment or production lines, plan resources, develop training, and support project handovers. Drive cross‑functional collaboration and manage knowledge related to product and process—facilitate knowledge sharing, training, and establish a knowledge‑management system. Apply problem‑solving and Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools to monitor, analyze, and optimize manufacturing processes.
