Study of impurity transport in negative and positive triangularity plasmas H/F
il y a 5 jours
Overview Study of impurity transport in negative and positive triangularity plasmas (H/F). During this internship (and possible subsequent PhD), we will study the impact of magnetic geometry, comparing positive and negative triangularity, on the collisional and turbulent transport of tungsten (W). The goal is to develop an algorithm that determines impurity transport coefficients from experimental measurements and by solving the impurity transport equation. Responsibilities Conduct research on the influence of magnetic geometry on collisional and turbulent transport of tungsten in tokamak plasmas. Develop and validate an algorithm to derive impurity transport coefficients from experimental data. Solve the impurity transport equation using open‑source impurity transport and radiation code AURORA. Analyze and predict tungsten radiative losses for future negative‑triangularity reactors. Qualifications Physics or engineering background. Fluency in English (courant). Methods & Tools Algorithm development based on the open‑source impurity transport and radiation code AURORA. Career Path Opportunity to continue in a PhD research role afterward. Location Site: Cadarache, France, Provence‑Côte d'Azur Contract Details Internship duration: 6 months Position available until 16/03/2026 Other Languages: English (courant). Possibility of pursuit in PhD. #J-18808-Ljbffr

Saint-Paul-lès-Durance, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France CEA Temps pleinNuclear fusion in a tokamak is a promising source of energy. However, a question arises: which plasma configuration is most likely to produce net energy? To contribute to answering this question, during this internship (and possible subsequent PhD), we will study the impact of magnetic geometry, comparison between positive and negative triangularity, on the...
