We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Epidemiologist to join our team at LNS - Laboratoire National de Santé. As a key member of our Health Protection Department, you will play a crucial role in supporting public health and healthcare for problems caused or aggravated by the environment.

Your responsibilities will include setting up and conducting epidemiological surveys, deriving health-based guidance values, and supporting the senior epidemiologist in conducting national epidemiological surveys. You will also be responsible for publishing research in international peer-reviewed journals and presenting findings at international conferences.

To be successful in this role, you will need a PhD in public health, epidemiology, bio-statistics, biomedicine or an equivalent field. You will also need proven track in setting up and carrying out different types of epidemiological surveys and reporting on epidemiological surveys in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

The Health Protection Department at LNS - Laboratoire National de Santé is a multidisciplinary team that supports public health and healthcare for problems caused or aggravated by the environment. We work closely with hospitals, ministries, and services for occupational medicine in Luxembourg to provide expert advice, education, and applied research.

Our team is responsible for carrying out laboratory analyses, human biomonitoring, and epidemiological public health surveys in environmental and occupational health for Luxembourg. We are also an active partner in the PARC program, which aims to develop next-generation chemical risk assessment to protect human health and the environment.

The PARC program is a 7-year science-policy Research & Innovation program that was launched in May 2022. It aims to develop next-generation chemical risk assessment to protect human health and the environment and to support the EU Chemical Strategy for Sustainability and the European Green Deal's "Zero pollution" ambition.

LNS - Laboratoire National de Santé is a key partner in several work packages, including human biomonitoring and exposure. We will participate in four epidemiological surveys, including a general population survey, an occupational survey targeting healthcare workers, an occupational survey for waste management workers, and an early-life study on chemical exposure to persistent organic pollutants.
