Job Description

ITEN is a leading industrial company developing and manufacturing solid-state lithium-ion micro-batteries in the form of SMD components. Our micro-batteries are rechargeable in a few minutes, store high energy density, and deliver power and high peak currents over a wide operating temperature range.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Applications Engineer who will be responsible for the application electronics development of our micro-battery product portfolio and the technical support of our customers to help shortening their design phase. The job entails working with cross-functional groups to continually push the envelope of technology implemented in ITEN products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specification and generation of application circuits and demo boards including GUI with circuit design steps, component selection, circuit schematics, bill of materials, and interface to subcontractors for PCB layout, assembly, test procedures, and reports.
  • Management of the system development project.
  • Specifications of possibly required mobile applications on smartphones.
  • Development of the technical documentation (e.g. application notes and design guidelines, evaluation kit and reference design datasheets).
  • Guiding troubleshooting/analysis, competitive analysis, and generating solutions, including support relative to applications and systems issues.
  • Building and customizing reference designs provided and analyzing, debugging, and resolving issues quickly.
  • Promoting Products and supporting design-in.
  • Contributing to competitive technical analysis.
  • Collaboration with third-party semiconductor companies to generate reference designs based on ITEN's micro-batteries.
  • Contribution to the definition of innovative and differentiated products.
Requirements

Education

The candidate should hold a master's degree in engineering (High schools of engineers or University, "BAC +5 equivalent") with a specialization in electronics.

Required skills and experience

  • More than 7 years of experience in the Electronics or Semiconductor Industry in an Applications or Electronics Design role.
  • Proficiency in developing firmware and programming microcontrollers.
  • Programming languages experience: C / C ++ and Python.
  • Skills and experience in low power design (stand-by and deep sleep modes, power gating, etc.).
  • Demonstrated 2-5 years industry experience in power management IC or related applications engineering.
  • Good knowledge of USB, I2C, UART, SPI protocols.
  • Good knowledge of RF protocols like NFC, BLE, UWB, LoRa, Zigbee, and possibly Nb-IOT.
  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience with operational amplifiers, analog/mixed signal, and power management ICs (PMIC) topologies, circuits, and applications.
  • Very good familiarity with microcontroller platforms and development environment.
  • Analog circuits and buck, boost, and buck-boost converters, as well as charge pump, LDOs, amplifiers/buffers.
  • Power management architectures used in battery-powered consumer/mobile devices such as data loggers, beacons, RF tags, asset tracking & monitoring solutions.
