About the Position
Recent advancements in computational mass spectrometry-based metabolomics have yielded a wealth of chemical insights. However, there's a need for a comprehensive computational framework to seamlessly integrate experimental and computational analyses, empowering chemists to effectively analyze their results.
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Nice Chemistry Institute (ICN) and the Wimmics team at Inria, both located within the Université Côte d'Azur. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with PhD students and research engineers from the Interdisciplinary Institute for Artificial Intelligence (3iA) TechPool, fostering international collaboration between France and Switzerland.
Your Role
You will contribute to developing a proof-of-concept for accessing a metabolomics knowledge graph (KG) using a large language model. This Python prototype aims to create a conversational agent that:
- Represents core experimental information from processed and annotated mass spectrometry data results using the Resource Description Framework (RDF).
- Enables advanced data mining queries using the SPARQL query language.
- Provides a natural language-based interface to perform these queries on the knowledge graph using a large language model (LLM).
Key Responsibilities
This research project delves into the burgeoning field of applying large language models to knowledge graphs, with a focus on metabolomics. Your responsibilities will include:
- Extending and refining the existing prototype to enhance its capabilities.
- Conducting experiments to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of the system.
- Analyzing and interpreting the results, contributing to scientific publications and presentations.
- Collaborating with researchers from diverse backgrounds to advance the project's goals.
Qualifications
