Role Overview
Are you an experienced transport project manager with a strong background in large-scale industrial operations? Do you have a keen interest in enhancing business processes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maximizing client satisfaction? If you are seeking a dynamic career opportunity where you can leverage your project management expertise within a cutting-edge technological environment and an international team, this position may be ideal for you.

We are currently seeking a Transport Project Manager to become a vital part of our supply chain division, with the flexibility to work from Gennevilliers, Sainte-Ménehould, or Poland, including two remote workdays each week.

The selected Transport Project Manager will report directly to the Supply Chain Director.

Key Responsibilities
As the Transport Project Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing and mapping transport operations across various clusters (EUR, NA, Asia).
  • Updating the MIFD for external flows within clusters, including storage considerations. Establish target MIFD and collaborate with plants and purchasing teams to implement the necessary action plans.
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives for transport, including milk runs and cross-docking, while identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Developing and defining a comprehensive database for transport and packaging to facilitate load calculations.
  • Creating and implementing scheduling tools for inbound and outbound transports in alignment with MPS requirements, maximizing SAP utilization and integrating additional tools. Providing training and support to plant teams on these tools.
  • Establishing tools to assess the costs and impacts of transport options based on various MPS scenarios.
  • Overseeing the deployment of transport management tools and providing training to local teams.
  • Leading initiatives for transport sustainability, including optimization and alternative energy solutions, in collaboration with the RSE department.
  • Managing technical projects related to automation and loading/unloading processes.
  • Defining evaluation criteria for Make or Buy decisions, focusing on cost savings and CAPEX.
  • Collaborating with the Purchasing Department to establish specifications for transport RFQs and contribute to supplier selection processes.
  • Supporting stock reduction initiatives through transport optimization and frequency adjustments.
  • Enhancing warehouse layouts and organizational structures to reduce space and workforce requirements.
  • Contributing to the definition and implementation of HSE best practices related to transport operations.
  • Aiding in the improvement of customer satisfaction metrics (OTIF, deliveries) and leading specific transport-related customer projects.
  • Establishing and tracking Transport KPIs, such as truck load and costs, while managing relevant reporting.
Accountability and Performance Metrics

  • Reducing transport and associated storage costs in collaboration with the Purchasing team.
  • Leading the transport cost improvement strategy for the ALBEA Tubes Product Line across Europe, North America, and Asia.
Collaborate with the Supply Chain organization, plants, and purchasing teams to enhance:

  • Transport routes
  • Truck load efficiency and KPIs
  • Storage locations and associated costs
  • Supplier selection processes
  • Make or Buy evaluations.
  • Development of related tools (including SAP), routines, and training programs to empower teams in managing and controlling transport operations.
  • Overall customer satisfaction.
