Riggers x6

About the Role

We are seeking skilled Riggers x6 to join our team at Altrad, where you will play a critical role in setting up lifting equipment and erecting working platforms for the construction, maintenance, and repair of engineering plant and machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Ascertain job requirements from drawings or other specifications, including lifting studies and plans.
• Inspect items to be moved, determine weight, and decide on the type of equipment to be used.
• Erect jib, derrick, or similar hoisting equipment using winches as necessary and install lifting tackle such as ropes and pulleys.
• Attach slings, chains, or other grappling equipment to the item to be moved and connect to hoisting equipment.
• Direct equipment operators to move objects to the required position.
• Splice wire and fibre ropes.
• Operate hydraulic jacking equipment and move objects on rollers.
• Trained and operate a Forklift Truck as per site/client requirements.
• Adhere to all safety requirements, including safety checks of tools and equipment.
• Use all relevant workshops/site equipment associated with job requirements, including all relevant training/certification requirements.

Requirements

• Trained to CITB Standards.
• Minimum 2 (two) years general site experience on a Petro Chemical Site or similar establishment.
• Valid Site Safety Passport.
