Hitachi Energy France is seeking a highly skilled Project HSE Manager to join our HVDC Project Site Management Team in France.
About the RoleThe Project HSE Manager will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance are achieved, monitored, and maintained throughout the project lifecycle. This includes reviewing customer HSE requirements, preparing HSE tender documentation, and attending clarification meetings with the customer.
Key Responsibilities- Review and demonstrate compliance with customer HSE requirements.
- Prepare HSE tender documentation and submit preliminary HSE plans to the customer.
- Attend clarification meetings and workshops with the customer.
- Prepare Scope of Works for Subcontractor work packages within the scope of HSE.
- Submit cost calculations for the project for HSE resources, consumables, training, and third-party services.
- Prepare the Project HSE Plan and other HSE-related documentation.
- Participate in HAZID Studies with the Project Engineering Team.
- Identify and establish the HSE Organization and ensure sufficient HSE resources are assigned to the Project.
- Ensure activities under the scope of Hitachi Energy are in compliance with legal and contractual HSE requirements.
- Produce reports for Project Reviews and attend Project Review meetings.
- Propose HSE KPIs for the Project and monitor, analyze, and assign actions where KPIs deviate from the defined targets.
- Review HSE documentation from all Hitachi Energy Subcontractors and support Subcontractors to meet internal and Project HSE requirements.
- Monitor and secure the process for HSE reporting in the Project.
- Initiate, plan, coordinate, and follow-up HSE audits on the Project.
We are looking for a candidate with previous experience in HSE Management in projects of similar size and complexity. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, as well as fluency in English and French. Conversance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 is also required. A qualified HSE professional with a Diploma in HSE Management and membership of IOSH (GradIOSH) or equivalent is preferred.
Knowledge of HSE Legislation in France and experience drafting HSE technical documentation are also essential. Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, ShareFile, and Microsoft Teams is required.
