Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Bioinformatics Manager to lead our bioinformatics initiatives at SRG. This role requires a seasoned professional in genomics and transcriptomics who will serve as both an expert and a leader in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development of experimental strategies in collaboration with biologists, focusing on bioinformatics analyses, particularly in transcriptomics.
  • Ensure comprehensive bioinformatics evaluations for advanced projects aimed at characterizing products for clinical research.
  • Conduct thorough analyses and quality assessments of sequencing data, encompassing both transcriptomic and genomic datasets.
  • Design and deploy innovative solutions to integrate and utilize data from various analyses, including transcriptomes, exomes, and whole genomes.
  • Develop visualization tools to facilitate the interpretation of complex biological data.
  • Support the execution of analysis plans for biological data processing.
  • Generate detailed summary reports and deliver presentations on findings.
  • As a Manager, strategize the bioinformatics operations and allocate necessary resources.
  • Drive innovation through technological advancements, ensuring efficient data storage and processing in collaboration with the IT department.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Doctorate or Master's degree in bioinformatics, with a minimum of five years of professional experience in analyzing transcriptomic (including bulk, single-cell, and spatial transcriptomics) and genomic (exomes and whole genomes, oncopanels) data.

Proficiency in the R programming language and familiarity with bioinformatics tools and languages such as Linux/Unix, bash, Python, version control (Git, Github/Gitlab), containerization (Docker/Singularity), and workflow automation (snakemake, nextflow) is essential. A strong understanding of workflows for interpreting genomic and transcriptomic sequencing data (including variant calling, differential gene expression, and multiomics data integration) is required, along with experience in traditional HPC and Cloud Computing infrastructures.

While prior management experience is not mandatory, a collaborative spirit and a passion for innovation are crucial.
