We are seeking Independent Country Specialists who possess extensive knowledge and experience in the development sector and advocacy. You will be tasked with providing 12-15 days of consultancy support throughout the year to develop a comprehensive donor profile and deliver pertinent geopolitical insights for one of our clients—a prominent multilateral development bank operating on a global scale.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESAs an Independent Country Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Geopolitical Insights:
Conduct monthly monitoring of significant geopolitical trends and relevant policy updates in your designated market. - Provide insights on foreign policy matters pertinent to multilateralism and development banks from your region.
- Deliver updates on key events and initiatives within the development sector.
Donor Profile Development:
- Prepare a detailed donor profile for your market, encompassing context analysis, significant political events, key stakeholders, ODA trends, policy updates, and budget allocation analysis (utilizing a provided template with support from SEEK).
- Participate in briefing calls with the client to address follow-up inquiries and offer additional insights.
For the donor profiles, SEEK Development will supply a template and all necessary quantitative analysis, which you will enhance with your contributions. The final deliverable is expected to be a 10-slide presentation for each market.
YOUR PROFILEWHAT MAKES YOU AN IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- In-depth understanding of development priorities, budget processes, development finance flows, and policy-making in your country of expertise.
- Strong grasp of the political and policy landscape in your designated region.
- Established relationships with key individuals in government, parliament, and civil society organizations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to distill complex information into clear and concise language.
We aim to recruit one Country Specialist for each of the specified regions, with experience in the local context and a solid understanding of the development financing landscape and relevant stakeholders. This freelance role will offer competitive daily rates, to be discussed with suitable candidates. Selected specialists may also be considered for future consulting opportunities.
Consultancy Role: Independent Country Specialist for various regions including France, Canada, Turkey, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, India, or Thailand.
Time Commitment: The Country Specialist is expected to allocate at least 12-15 days of support throughout the year, including monthly monitoring and donor profile development based on data availability.
