Role Overview:

The Functional Requirements Analyst plays a crucial role within the software development team, engaging in the analysis, design, programming, testing, and maintenance of Clinisys software products. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality analysis that aligns with the standards and expectations of the organization, clients, and other stakeholders. The analyst must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts into clear frameworks for colleagues and team members.

The Functional Requirements Analyst is expected to have extensive knowledge of Clinisys software products and demonstrate expertise in their assigned domains. This role requires the ability to work independently and tackle complex, mission-critical challenges. The analyst will identify and gather the functional requirements of Clinisys clients by collaborating closely with the Product Manager and Product Owner, participating in user groups, and engaging with customers. The primary responsibility is to translate these requirements into functional designs, ensuring the development team has the necessary input to create the software accurately from the outset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Convert client needs into functional designs based on requirements provided by product management.
  • Proactively seek validation and challenge of the functional designs.
  • Clarify functional designs for the development and testing teams.
  • Collaborate with product managers, sales, customer service, support teams, user groups, and clients to fully comprehend their needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely delivery in accordance with agreed-upon requirements and quality standards.
  • Work with the testing team to develop test cases and scenarios that encompass the functional design, preferably before development begins.
  • Partner with the technical documentation team to ensure functional specifications are included in user manuals and release notes.
  • Effectively prioritize the requirements backlog to address both functional and non-functional needs, ensuring delivery accuracy and predictability.
  • Understand data structures and the flow of information between systems.
  • Represent product workflows and requirements through appropriate visual or graphical formats (e.g., process flow diagrams, data flowcharts, wireframes, low-fidelity prototypes, etc.).
  • Acquire in-depth product knowledge and insights into the healthcare market, client business drivers, and user personas.
  • Comprehend methodologies for identifying, prioritizing, and mitigating risks to enhance patient safety and business integrity.
  • Willingness to travel within Europe (25-35% monthly).

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent experience.
  • Background in biomedical science or as a medical technical lab technician is essential.
  • Experience in a software product environment is required.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) or Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in analysis methodologies (e.g., Behavior Driven Development - BDD).
  • Knowledge of software development environments and processes.
  • Understanding of the French private pathology market and workflows.
  • Familiarity with French public and private billing workflows (e.g., FSE, Noemie, etc.).
  • Knowledge of interoperability standards such as HL7, Phir, DICOM, etc., is a significant plus.
  • Fluency in both French and English is required. Knowledge of Dutch is not mandatory but considered a bonus.
