We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Project Management Director to lead our regional construction programs in northern Europe. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and directing day-to-day operations and strategic direction of large construction projects, as well as mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of project managers on multiple construction projects in northern Europe.
- Drive a safe, quality-first culture and ensure compliance with building regulations.
- Manage and monitor project progress, quality, and compliance with company expectations.
- Oversee project risk registers and ensure projects meet or exceed company expectations.
- Direct external vendors, including general contractors, A&E design teams, commissioning agents, and equipment suppliers.
- Contribute to establishing and maintaining high-value relationships with vendors.
- Participate in training programs and develop team skills.
- Manage contract administration procedures, including generation, review, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, and cost forecasts.
- Liaise with local authorities and relevant state agencies and departments.
- Coordinate internal and external project team members, including design, procurement, operations, commercial, and IT/network support teams.
- Lead by example with strategy and structure.
- Manage project closure, handover, and lessons learned processes.
- HNC/HND or equivalent in construction, construction project management, or services engineering, or with equivalent experience.
- Proven years of experience in project and construction management, including critical infrastructure for data centers, pharmaceutical, biotech, or similar environments.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout EMEA.
- Customer focus and excellent soft skills.
- Self-motivated and flexible, with the ability to solve day-to-day delivery problems.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant statutory regulations and industry best practices.
- Establishing project roadmaps and verifying them.
- Being decisive and persistent in closing out issues.
- Experienced in construction procurement methodologies.
- MS Office skills, including MS Project, Excel, and Visio, as well as applying additional Equinix platforms.
