DAC Beachcroft LLP is seeking to enhance its esteemed insurance sector team by recruiting a Professional Indemnity Knowledge Lawyer (Professional Support Lawyer).

This position is ideal for a lawyer with over 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) who possesses expertise in professional liabilities, including sectors such as accounting, financial advising, brokerage, legal services, pensions, surveying, valuation, and technology. The role is also suitable for an existing Knowledge Lawyer or Professional Support Lawyer seeking a new and stimulating challenge. The successful candidate will work on a hybrid basis, 3 to 5 days per week, from the Leeds office.

You will become part of a dedicated team of four insurance knowledge lawyers operating across our various offices, contributing significantly to both internal and external knowledge management, with a particular emphasis on thought leadership and trend analysis within the insurance sector.

Key Responsibilities

Practice

  • Provide expert advice and support to colleagues on complex technical matters.
  • Monitor case law and legislative changes that may affect clients and relevant sectors.
  • Contribute to the execution of both long-term and short-term business strategies.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services.
  • Develop newsletters tailored to specific professions and clients as needed.
  • Regularly update the team on relevant developments.
  • Participate in learning and development planning meetings, understanding the needs of the team in advance.
  • Collaborate closely with learning and development to achieve shared goals in training and knowledge dissemination.
  • Organize training sessions for colleagues, potentially engaging external speakers.
  • Create and update specific knowledge resources and manage precedents and guidance as necessary.
  • Support the technical training program by facilitating training sessions.
  • Evaluate requests for external training courses and provide feedback to determine if internal content should be developed.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in the delivery of legal knowledge and explore innovative working methods.

  • Ensure the firm consistently delivers exceptional solutions to client needs.

Marketing & Business Development

  • Proactively produce articles and thought leadership aligned with current technical developments and industry trends.

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • A motivated and proactive lawyer with ideally 5+ years PQE.
  • Knowledge of or experience in Scottish law or dual qualification would be beneficial.
  • Proficient in producing thought leadership content, conducting legal research, and delivering training to both internal and external audiences.
  • Eager to build strong relationships internally and externally, working closely with marketing and business development teams.
  • Driven and proactive, whether working independently or as part of a team.
