At Alstom, we're a global leader in the rail industry, and we're looking for a talented Indirect Tax Manager to join our team. As a key Business Partner for our Finance department, you'll provide pivotal insights and advice on indirect taxation matters, working closely with teams across the business to analyze business transactions for VAT implications.

We're seeking a highly skilled professional with extensive tax expertise in a cutting-edge field. You'll be responsible for:

  • Advising on structuring for optimal VAT efficiency in public tenders and contract execution.
  • Monitoring indirect tax implications of transactions within the Alstom Group.
  • Conducting regular VAT audits to ensure compliance and identify potential areas of risk or non-compliance.
  • Actively pursuing negotiations with tax authorities, advising on tax rulings & agreements.
  • Identifying opportunities for VAT savings and optimization.

We value passion and attitude over experience, so we're looking for a candidate with a degree in Finance, Accounting, Taxation, or a related field, and about 7 to 10 years of experience in the field. You'll also need knowledge of local and international VAT legislation and compliance requirements, as well as strong strategic thinking to develop and implement VAT compliance strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Partner for the business in relation to indirect taxation matters.
  • Advising on structuring for optimal VAT efficiency in public tenders and contract execution.
  • Monitoring indirect tax implications of transactions within the Alstom Group.
  • Conducting regular VAT audits to ensure compliance and identify potential areas of risk or non-compliance.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
  • About 7 to 10 years of experience in the field.
  • Knowledge of local and international VAT legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Strong strategic thinking to develop and implement VAT compliance strategies.
  • Proven ability to analyze contracts and business transactions for tax implications.
  • Negotiation skills to liaise effectively with tax authorities and external advisors.
  • Capacity to lead VAT training programs and drive knowledge sharing within the organization.
