Department Overview: You will be part of the Group Legal department, which is divided into four specialized teams: (i) Insurance, Reinsurance & Strategic Projects, (ii) M&A, (iii) Corporate Governance, and (iv) Corporate Finance. Within this structure, you will specifically join the Insurance, Reinsurance, and Strategic Projects team, reporting directly to the Senior Financial Regulatory Counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure high-quality structuring, drafting, and reviewing of legal documents in accordance with industry standards.
- Provide advisory support on emerging regulations and assist in lobbying efforts with public affairs and regulatory teams.
- Collaborate with the broader Group Legal team on critical regulatory matters, including M&A, corporate simplification, litigation, bancassurance agreements, and data issues.
- Facilitate smooth coordination with internal AXA functions such as Finance, Risk, Compliance, and HR, as well as with local operating entities and external advisors.
- Engage in horizon-scanning for emerging legal issues and provide training to non-legal teams within AXA.
Qualifications: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a lawyer in a legal department or international law firm is required. Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of French is advantageous.
