We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team and contribute to a groundbreaking research project examining the influence of connected technologies on caregiving practices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to delve into the intersection of technology, social dynamics, and healthcare within diverse cultural contexts.
Your Role:
- Conduct in-depth research investigating the effects of connected technologies on various aspects of caregiving.
- Compare and contrast the implementation and adoption of these technologies across European and East Asian societies.
- Analyze how connected technologies are shaping user practices and routines within caregiving settings.
- Identify key challenges and barriers hindering the widespread adoption of connected technologies in caregiving contexts.
Research Methodology:
This project will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative research techniques. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting structured interviews with engineers, healthcare professionals, and end-users to gather diverse perspectives on connected technologies in caregiving.
- Developing comprehensive case studies in both Europe and East Asia to provide in-depth comparative analyses of technology implementation and impact.
Expected Contributions:
As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will contribute to the advancement of knowledge in this field by:
- Developing a robust theoretical framework that illuminates the complex interplay between connected technologies and caregiving practices.
- Providing practical insights into the successful implementation and integration of connected technologies within homes and caregiving environments.
Qualifications:
We are seeking candidates with:
- A PhD in social sciences, with a specialization in geography, urbanism, anthropology, or sociology.
- Proven experience conducting interviews and surveys to collect qualitative data.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- A strong interest in interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
- The ability to work effectively within a research team environment.
- Proficiency in programming and quantitative analysis techniques.
