The Bureau of Technology
Our engineering division, referred to as the Bureau of Technology (BoT), is integral to Back Market's operations. It comprises more than 30 innovative product teams focused on developing and managing services that deliver substantial value to our customers and suppliers. These teams are supported by our Platform group, which includes over 10 specialized teams tackling cross-functional technical challenges to enhance our operational efficiency.

Knowledge Sharing and Professional Development
We have established numerous groups dedicated to fostering knowledge across various technical fields, including security, backend, frontend, AI, and mobile. These groups act as collaborative hubs for professional growth and continuous learning.

Role Overview
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will collaborate closely with your squad members and the Staff engineer of your group. Regular rituals with your group and the Backend Chapter will facilitate the sharing of effective practices and ensure alignment with the overall technical vision.

Technical Challenges
Back Market's technical stack is transitioning from a traditional monolithic architecture to a distributed, service-oriented framework. This evolution presents a unique opportunity to modernize our platform and elevate engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will face several challenges, including:

  • Understanding the overall system architecture.
  • Quickly comprehending the organizational structure.
  • Scoping potential solutions for new features as requested by the Product Manager.
  • Offering pragmatic solutions and critically evaluating implementation strategies.
