Position: Senior Legal Advisor M/F

At Voltalia, we are dedicated to advancing renewable energy solutions. As a producer of electricity through wind, solar, hydro, biomass, and storage, we also offer comprehensive services to third-party clients, including Development, EPC, O&M, and Distribution. Our operations span across 20 countries on 4 continents, providing extensive capacity to our clients. We have been publicly listed on the regulated Euronext market in Paris since July 2014.

Our HR & Corporate Functions division is seeking a Senior Legal Advisor, who will undertake the following responsibilities:

  1. Deliver legal counsel for the company's operations, contributing to the assessment of legal and compliance risks within the UK market.
  2. Offer legal support and guidance to UK business units, overseeing a range of regulatory issues, drafting, negotiating, and advising on commercial contracts (land options, leases, connection agreements, PPA, EPC, and O&M contracts).
  3. Assist in the preparation and review of documentation for public tenders and support IPP projects through financial closure (including reviewing and drafting loan agreements, security agreements, and liaising with lenders' legal representatives).
  4. Provide legal insights on licensing and the development of IPP projects, facilitating the advancement of new projects and collaborations (including MOUs, Collaboration Agreements, M&As, etc.).
  5. Develop and maintain a repository of template contracts and legal documents for team use, ensuring alignment with group legal objectives, policies, and best practices, in close coordination with the group Development Legal Manager and the group Operations & Services Legal Manager.
  6. Draft minutes for Board of Directors meetings and general assemblies for all UK entities (operating and SPVs) and any other corporate documentation such as powers of attorney, articles of association, etc., in close collaboration with the group Corporate Legal Manager and the paralegal team in Paris.
  7. Monitor and provide counsel on workplace relations and advise other support functions, including finance, IT, HR, and HSE.
  8. Track all litigation matters in the UK and report findings to the Head of Legal in Paris.
  9. Uphold and enhance the values, strengths, and reputation of the company and its operations in relevant markets.
  10. Act as the primary contact for the Group Compliance Manager in the UK (concerning anti-corruption, GDPR, whistleblowing, and related concerns).

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. Qualification as a Solicitor – SQE/ LPC/ CILEX or equivalent.
  2. A minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
  3. In-depth knowledge of Development/IPP within the renewable energy sector.
  4. Experience in Real Estate law.
  5. Background as a corporate & commercial and construction attorney.
  6. At least 5 years of experience in comparable roles (either in law firms or corporate environments).
  7. Familiarity with M&A and project finance matters is advantageous.
  8. Proficiency in English; knowledge of French is a plus.
  9. Experience in stakeholder management or managerial roles is a plus.
