Blockchain is seeking a highly skilled Controller to join our growing finance team in London. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing bank accounts and cryptocurrency wallets, providing month-end support and reporting, and preparing statutory accounts filings in accordance with local GAAP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee bank accounts and cryptocurrency wallets to ensure accurate and timely transactions.
- Provide month-end support and reporting to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
- Prepare statutory accounts filings in accordance with local GAAP to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all invoices are coded correctly and paid in a timely manner to maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare journal entries for the senior controller's approval to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare general ledger account analysis to identify and address any discrepancies or variances.
- Review and approve junior team members' work to ensure high-quality financial reporting.
- Manage the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain P&L and balance sheet reconciliations to identify and research any large variances.
- Prepare month-end variance analysis to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead year-end audit work for entities under purview to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Perform ad-hoc projects as needed to support the finance team.
- Assist with establishing internal controls procedures and processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare VAT and R&D credit filing and reconciliation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Act as backup for members of the finance leadership team as required to ensure continuity of financial reporting.
Requirements:
- The foremost quality for this position is integrity, as you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required, with ACA/ACCA qualification preferred.
- A high level of experience working in a similar or relevant role is required, with experience with international accounting (United States, United Kingdom, and EU) a plus.
- Strong presentation and communication skills are required when working with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and execute quickly and efficiently in a dynamic environment with ever-changing and competing demands.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Experience working with startups, advising on business plans and finance strategy is a plus.
- Knowledge of IFRS and UK/US GAAP is required.
- Experience in corporate tax preparation is a plus.
