Specialized Educator

About the Role

Fondation OVE is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialized Educator to join our team. As an important member of our team, you will be responsible for providing consistent and rigorous support in accordance with best practice recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement personalized support plans for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, in collaboration with the individual and their legal representatives.
• Coordinate actions to ensure the implementation of individual projects, working closely with a multidisciplinary team.
• Establish a supportive and trusting relationship with the individuals, promoting their inclusion in various aspects of their lives.
• Maintain a professional, reflective approach and work well within a team, contributing to the development and monitoring of individual support plans.
• Lead and coordinate team activities, including meetings and feedback sessions, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Utilize various communication tools effectively, including alternative communication methods and social skills development strategies.
• Collaborate with families and network partners to ensure a comprehensive support system for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Provide specialized knowledge and experience in Autism Spectrum Disorders, including sensory considerations and structured interventions.
• Support and mentor trainees during their educational programs, promoting their growth and development.

Requirements

• Must hold a degree in Special Education.
• Essential knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience (or relevant training) in behavioral and developmental support for children and adolescents with autism.
• Driver's license preferred.
• Employment contract according to Collective Agreement 66.
