Mission Overview

Located on the banks of the Rhône River, in the Gard department, our site in Chusclan (15 km from Orange, 30 km from Avignon) is part of the Orano Melox plant, which is situated near the Marcoule site. Our unique expertise in the world requires the work and skills of 1550 people on the Melox site, with over 900 directly employed by Orano.

Our team is responsible for producing recycled nuclear fuel, a mixture of uranium oxide and plutonium, which is then used by electricity producers in various countries, such as France and Japan.

In France, this recycling process is essential and allows us to produce approximately 10% of the country's nuclear electricity.

Within the Direction Protection, Sûreté, Sécurité, Santé et Environnement (DP3SE) department, and more specifically within the Service Radioprotection (SR), your main missions will be:


• To advise and inform operators and stakeholders on radioprotection matters.


• To carry out surveillance and control tasks.


• To inform clients and their hierarchy in case of anomalies related to the radioprotection reference framework and implement protection measures.


• To assist stakeholders on radiological matters and ensure their dosimetric follow-up.


• To ensure the proper functioning of radioprotection equipment and, in case of malfunction, trigger maintenance or calibration operations.


• To take charge of stakeholders in case of radiological events (MELOX employees or external companies) and participate in the installation's safety and return to compliance.


• To participate in the animation of training actions and the authorization of work process.


• To apply all safety, security, radioprotection, criticality, nuclear material management, and environmental guidelines.

The position is organized in a 5*8 schedule.
