At Spektrum, we are seeking a highly experienced IT law professional to join our team and support key client projects. This role involves implementing personal data management aspects in complex IT environments.

We offer a competitive salary of €80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus benefits. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 9 years of experience in IT law and a strong background in data protection and privacy by design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing personal data management aspects in complex IT environments;
  • Ensuring privacy by design and by default solutions for large-scale IT systems;
  • Assisting with records, compliance checks, risk screening, threshold, and data protection impact assessments (DPIA);
  • Developing and maintaining DPIA methodology;
  • Providing training on DPIA methodology;
  • Handling data breaches in large-scale IT systems from detection to final report;
  • Drafting data protection policies and procedures;
  • Identifying gaps and contributing to project plans to close gaps and meet data protection requirements.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 9 years of experience in IT law;
  • Knowledge and skills in contract management and large-scale IT system projects;
  • Good knowledge in Data Protection matters, including Privacy by Design;
  • Good knowledge in Intellectual Property Rights;
  • Proven experience as a Data Protection Practitioner;
  • Proven experience in implementing personal data management aspects in complex IT environments;
  • Proven experience in conducting comprehensive Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA);
  • Proven experience in implementing privacy enhancing technologies;
  • Proven experience in handling data breaches.

Education:

  • University degree in law;
  • Degree or equivalent experience demonstrating focus on privacy engineering.

Certifications:

  • Specific certification on how to carry out Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) is an asset;
  • Basic Privacy/Data Protection certification such as Certified Information Privacy Professional/Manager (CIPP/E or CIPM).

Working Policy:

  • This role requires working on-site at our Strasbourg location;

Travel:

  • Some travel to other NATO sites may be required;

Contract Duration:

  • The successful candidate will be employed for a fixed-term contract of 12 months;

Security Clearance:

  • A valid EU Confidential clearance is mandatory for this role.
