We're seeking a seasoned Staff Software Engineer to join our Event Platform Storage team at Datadog. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll contribute to the design and development of our scalable, exactly-once, cost-effective, and reliable storage engine for timestamped payloads.
Your primary focus will be on optimizing distributed systems for durability, high availability, low latency, and scalability. You'll work closely with our cross-functional teams to drive high-priority projects that increase the platform's resilience and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and drive high-priority projects that enhance the platform's reliability and scalability.
- Lead architectural decisions for new and existing distributed systems.
- Identify potential system risks and trends in reliability, and design solutions to address them.
- Collaborate closely with partner platforms that integrate and depend on the event platform.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience leading cross-team initiatives in a platform or infrastructure-focused environment.
- Passionate about performance and efficiency optimization.
- Significant back-end programming experience and a track record of architecting, building, and operating distributed systems at high scale.
