Financial Risk Consultant – Banking Sector

Position Overview:

In response to the substantial expansion of our operations and the enhancement of our Paris office, we are looking to bolster our teams with diverse profiles of Financial Risk Consultants (2 to 4 years of experience) / Senior Financial Risk Consultants (4 to 6 years of experience) / Managers (6 to 10 years of experience). These professionals will support leading French and European banking institutions within their Risk Management or Financial Departments, addressing the following key areas:

  • Oversight of risk management encompassing credit, market, counterparty, operational, ALM, ESG/climate, and related aspects concerning strategy and governance, Risk Appetite Framework, and management framework definition.
  • Modeling of credit risks (A-IRB, Scoring, IFRS9), market risks (FRTB, CVA/XVA, Counterparty, CSRBB), ALM risks (TCI, IRRBB, FX, liquidity), among others.
  • Design and execution of EBA and internal stress testing protocols.
  • Analysis and implementation of regulatory frameworks (Basel IV, CRR3, BRRD, etc.): including text analysis, impact assessments, and strategic recommendations.
  • Preparation of regulatory documentation concerning the prudential control and evaluation process (SREP), Capital adequacy / ICAAP, Liquidity / ILAAP, and Recovery and Resolution plans.
  • Financial communication and reporting (COREP, FINREP, Pillar III, NFRD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate client requirements, translate them into a strategic framework, and formulate recommendations for solution implementation.
  • Oversee projects from initiation through to final delivery of solutions.
  • Facilitate project coordination and management activities.

Candidate Profile:

A Master's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Quantitative Finance, or a related field is required.

A minimum of 2 years of experience in a consulting firm, or within the Risk Management, Financial, or ALM departments of a banking institution.

Demonstrated expertise in risk management (credit, market, operational, ALM, etc.) and/or Finance.

Familiarity with banking regulations (Basel, CRR, BRRD).

Fluency in English and French, with a strong capacity to operate in an international context.

Attributes sought include creativity, adaptability, strong communication skills, and a collaborative spirit.

Technical Skills:

  • Programming Languages: SQL, Python, R, C++, C#, Java, etc.
  • Tools: Alteryx, Dataiku, SAS, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.

Project Management Skills:

  • Process enhancement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Agile methodologies / PMP / Prince2.
