Advanced Geophysicist

This role is for physicists, mathematicians, and geophysicists looking to develop their skills in a six-month internship. You'll work with our subsurface imaging R&D team to develop and test high-end algorithms for our clients.

You'll have the opportunity to work on a research project focused on elastic-wave propagation and full-waveform inversion (FWI). FWI is a standard solution for building subsurface velocity models, but it's often performed using acoustic approximation-based modeling. You'll explore the potential of elastic FWI and develop algorithms for separating P- and S-waves.

Key Responsibilities

• Test the parameter sensitivity of S-wave velocity in elastic FWI for land data
• Develop and implement algorithms for separating P- and S-waves in elastic media

Requirements

• Last year of Master's degree in Geophysics, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields
• Excellent coding skills in C/C++, CUDA, FORTRAN, Python, or Matlab
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
