Position Overview
Role Summary:
The Aviation Medical Officer is tasked with overseeing the clinical resuscitation and stabilization of patients during air transport, collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all facets of clinical care related to critical care transport and aviation medicine.
- Coordinate with fellow medical personnel to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
- Provide clinical reports to the Chief Medical Officer at Iqarus.
- Facilitate clinical mentoring for the development of staff.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in accordance with clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures.
- Support the clinical excellence framework under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer.
- Engage with external agencies as necessary to promote continuity of care and facilitate professional referrals and patient handovers.
This list is not exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience:
- A first-level degree in Medicine with a minimum of three years of continuous, progressive clinical experience post-qualification.
- Postgraduate training in Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine, or Aero-Medicine with at least three years of post-qualification experience.
- Current registration and licensure to practice medicine independently in the respective country.
Key Skills:
- Certification in ATLS/ITLS/PHTLS/ETC (or equivalent) and ACLS/BLS.
- Training in Aviation Medicine.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Proficient IT skills, including experience with electronic medical records systems.
- Fluency in English.
Essential Capabilities:
- Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in high-stress environments.
- Capacity to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, including both clinical and non-clinical personnel.
