Job Title: Senior Staff Engineer Automation

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Engineer Automation to join our team at BD. As a key member of our Intelligent Automation team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing process optimization strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time, and improve product quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with DTO Intelligent Automation leadership and key staff members to develop site-specific Intelligent Automation roadmaps.
  • Design and implement process optimization strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time, and improve product quality.
  • Work closely with manufacturing site teams to conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of existing manufacturing processes.
  • Design and execute laboratory experiments, pilot-scale studies, and technology transfer activities.
  • Manage external contractors and vendors for process development and technology transfer projects.
  • Collaborate with the DTO team members and other required functions to develop and implement playbooks for implementation and replication of intelligent automation technology solutions.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve process-related issues.
Requirements:
  • BS Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Process Engineering, Computer engineering/Software Systems.
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible engineering experience in manufacturing engineering, automation design and development, technology transfer, assessment of product manufacturability, industrial engineering, and project engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Intelligent Automation solutions and digital transformations.
  • Strong knowledge of process optimization techniques, lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical analysis.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Process Engineering, Computer engineering/Software Systems.
  • Project Management Training and/or Certification.
  • Industry 4.0 Training and/or Certification.
  • Proficient in process analysis, process modeling, and simulation software, and statistical analysis.
