Nuclear Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Safety Engineer to join our team at Renaissance Fusion. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our nuclear facilities and fusion experiments.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement safety guidelines and procedures for nuclear facilities and fusion experiments.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with nuclear safety regulations and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain safety documentation, including safety cases, hazard assessments, and regulatory reports.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to support the design, operation, and maintenance of nuclear facilities and fusion experiments.
- Master's degree in Nuclear/Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
- Minimum 6 years of work experience in nuclear safety engineering, preferably with diverse applications to fusion experiments, radiation protection, remote handling, and/or management of radwaste.
- Fluent in French (C1/C2) and English (B2/C1).
- Strong background in safety case production and hazard analysis.
- Knowledge of French nuclear regulations and regulatory bodies.
- Knowledge of various nuclear codes and standards, such as the IAEA-TECDOC-1851 'Integrated Approach to Safety Classification of Mechanical Components for Fusion Applications'.
- Experience in the implementation and optimization of remote maintenance systems through testing, commissioning, and/or direct usage.
- Experience in the installation, integration, and/or commissioning of complex engineering plant systems.
