About the Role
As a Dynamic Positioning Officer (DPO) and Second Mate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels. Reporting directly to the Master, you will be responsible for overseeing various deck operations and contributing to the overall success of the vessel's mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Expertise: You will demonstrate a thorough understanding of our company's Quality, Safety, Management System (QSMS) policies and procedures. You will apply these standards diligently in all your tasks, ensuring compliance with international regulations and best practices.
- Deck Operations: You will be actively involved in managing deck operations, including cargo handling, anchor handling, towage, and the maintenance of vessel equipment. Your responsibilities will encompass supervising crew members and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Safety Management: You will champion a culture of safety onboard by rigorously implementing company HSE policies and procedures. This includes monitoring safety indices, addressing occupational health concerns, and participating in incident investigations.
- DP System Expertise: You will possess a comprehensive understanding of the vessel's Dynamic Positioning (DP) system, including its functions, manuals, and operational procedures. Your role will involve maintaining the DP Plan and ensuring the smooth execution of DP operations.
- Communication & Reporting: You will effectively communicate with the Master and other deck officers, providing necessary written instructions and reporting any deficiencies or incidents that may impact vessel operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in anchor handling/towing/rig move operations.
- At least 6 months of experience as a Second Officer.
- Possession of all required STCW 2010 certificates, including the Officer of The Watch (Deck) STCW Reg II/1 (unlimited) Certificate of Competency.
- DP Unlimited and OOW II/1 license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Excellent understanding of the English language.
