Senior Communications Officer

The Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Officer to join its International Liaison and Communication (ILC) Department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring a consistent presence of the BIPM on the internet and social media, promoting the organization's publications, and advising on strategic communication and outreach activities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy to promote the BIPM's work and publications.
- Manage the BIPM's internet and social media presence, creating engaging content and ensuring consistency across all platforms.
- Collaborate with the ILC Director and technical departments to develop and implement communication plans, including information campaigns and events.
- Provide support to the Director of the ILC Department in defining the BIPM's strategy on communication, stakeholder management, and outreach.
- Participate in the work of the Capacity Building and Knowledge Transfer (CBKT) team and contribute to the delivery of projects and events.
- A higher degree (or equivalent qualification) in physical science, engineering, or information technology.
- At least 5 years' experience in the communication team of a National Metrology Institute or an international body addressing a technical and scientific audience.
- Experience in organizing information campaigns and large events.
- Excellent knowledge of website development and management, social media platforms, and content creation.
- Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences and formats.
