The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team in West Bengal, India. As a key member of our project team, you will play a crucial role in implementing project activities, collecting research data, and publishing research findings.
Key Responsibilities- Promote the adoption of Apical Rooted Cutting Technology among farmers.
- Oversee the production of potato tissue plantlets and Apical Rooted cuttings.
- Conduct demonstrations on improved production practices related to potato seed production, plant nutrition, pest and disease management, mechanization, and water management.
- Collect and test seed, plant, and soil samples for nutritional deficiencies, diseases, or other changes.
- Work closely with the project team to develop production practices that integrate varieties with improved production practices to enhance farmers' income.
- Provide training to farmers, project partners, and extension agents on improved production practices.
- Contribute to writing training materials, technical progress reports, and annual reviews as directed by the project manager.
- Assist the project manager in administrative tasks and activities related to knowledge management and generating communication outputs for users of technologies.
The selected candidate will have a strong background in potato production, research, and extension, with excellent quantitative and writing skills. The ability to teach complex topics to researchers at different levels of expertise is essential. This is an excellent opportunity to develop publications and contribute to the growth of the potato industry in West Bengal.
