Job Title: Senior Validation Engineer - XTC H/F

Hitachi Rail is a global provider of integrated transport solutions for railways. We develop innovative and sustainable solutions in the fields of rolling stock, signaling, operation, service, and maintenance, as well as digital technology and turnkey systems.   • Les Ulis (Ile-de-France): support, engineering, and project management functions
  • Riom (Auvergne): industrial production and logistics site
  • Paris (Champs Elysées): 24/7 maintenance team for part of the RATP metro and tramway networks

Joining the France entity of Hitachi Rail means becoming part of the global CBTC development center. Many CBTC achievements are underway in France or through the Group, including in China (Shenyang), Taiwan (Taipei), Denmark (Copenhagen), South America (Peru, Lima), and recently in the UK (Glasgow) and Belgium (Brussels). As the sole supplier of signaling systems for French high-speed lines, we are currently working on projects such as Le Mans-Rennes, Tours-Bordeaux, and Paris-Strasbourg. We are also implementing the modernization of French classic lines (post-informatics generation) and cutting-edge signaling systems for metro networks based on radio communication (CBTC).

Job Description:

As a Senior Validation Engineer - XTC H/F, you will be responsible for ensuring that the activities of system testing and laboratory integration are well executed and contribute to the achievement of system validation objectives while increasing the competitiveness of bids and project efficiency. Your main missions will include:

  • Ensuring that system testing and laboratory integration activities are well executed and contribute to the achievement of system validation objectives
  • Defining and implementing the validation and verification plan for the system
  • Ensuring the independence of the validation and verification process
  • Ensuring the quality of the testing and integration environment
  • Ensuring the optimization of the testing and integration configuration
  • Ensuring the examination and approval of test and integration deliverables
  • Ensuring the examination of the validation and verification plan
  • Ensuring the examination of the evaluation of costs, planning, constraints, and risks of testing and integration activities
  • Ensuring the collection of requirements for materials for the host and target environments
  • Ensuring the installation of the host and target environments
  • Ensuring the provision of support and comments for the host and target environments
  • Ensuring the definition of the testing and integration strategy
  • Ensuring the development of the testing and integration plan
  • Ensuring the examination of the testing and integration plan
  • Ensuring the examination of the testing and integration deliverables
  • Ensuring the examination of the validation and verification plan
  • Ensuring the examination of the evaluation of costs, planning, constraints, and risks of testing and integration activities

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in validation or testing of systems and laboratory integration
  • Experience in software development and testing, particularly in IEE1483 and EN 50128 standards
  • Experience in signalization disciplines and concepts (locking operation, ATP operation, ATS operation)
  • Ability to integrate and maintain, in the laboratory, different equipment and subsystems (subsystem integration and system integration) to create the required test environment
  • Knowledge of testing processes
  • Ability to define and execute test procedures to validate system requirements and interfaces
  • Experience and knowledge of railway network operation and metro operation
  • Ability to ensure the definition of the correct strategy in terms of conformity of specifications to requirements (Verification) and in terms of planning of tests and methodologies (Validation)
  • Ability to ensure the coverage of all functional and critical safety aspects, in terms of requirement management, test definition, execution, and analysis at the application level
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of virtualization
  • Knowledge of DOORS and Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of National Instruments LabVIEW
  • Knowledge of security analysis and RAM analysis
  • Fluent in French and English, both spoken and written
